Amidst Pandemic IT Spending In India Expected To Grow 8% In 2021

According to a new Gartner report, “the information technology (IT) spending in India is expected to reach $92.7 billion in 2021, growing 8 percent from last year, as many companies still suffer revenue declines and IT spending is accelerating ahead of revenue expectations amid the pandemic.”

IT spending across the world is projected to total $4.2 trillion in 2021, an increase of 8.6 percent from 2020.

“The second wave of the pandemic and associated lockdowns has brought a significant sluggishness during most of the second quarter of 2021. However, demand is witnessing a rapid recovery across the majority of the sectors,” said Naveen Mishra, senior research director at Gartner.

“Pharma, healthcare, financial services, education, online retail, and government continue to invest in their digital transformation journey”, he added further.

In 2021, Indian organizations including SMEs will be better positioned to invest more into IT, through the next two quarters. All segments of IT spending are projected to grow in 2021, in India. End users are forecasted to spend the highest on devices in 2021, after a 5.9 percent decline in 2020, the report showed.

John-David Lovelock, distinguished research vice president at Gartner said that CIOs are looking for partners who can think past the digital sprints of 2020 and be more intentional in their digital transformation efforts in 2021. This means building technologies and services that don’t yet exist, and further differentiating their organization in an already crowded market.

The IT services segment is forecast to total $1.2 trillion in 2021, an increase of 9.8 percent from last year. “As the world continues to open back up, enterprises will invest in tools that support innovation, anywhere operations and employee productivity and trust,” said Lovelock.

IT Ministry Says New IT Rules To Ensure A Safer & More Responsible Social Media Ecosystem

With Twitter India on Sunday hints towards complying completely with the IT rules by appointing Vinay Prakash as the resident grievance office, the IT & Communications minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Sunday said the new information technology rules will empower and protect the users at the same time.

Adding further, he said the new IT rules will ensure a safer and more responsible social media ecosystem in India.

The new rules which came into effect on May 25 mandate social media companies to establish a grievance redressal mechanism for resolving complaints from the users or victims.

“Reviewed the implementation and compliance of Information Technology Rules, 2021 along with my colleague Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar Ji. These guidelines are empowering and protecting users and will ensure a safer and more responsible social media ecosystem in India,” Vaishnav said in a post on Twitter’s Indian competitor Koo platform.

All significant social media companies, with over 50 lakh user bases shall appoint a grievance officer to deal with such complaints and share the name and contact details of such officers.

The big social media companies are mandated to appoint a chief compliance officer, a Nodal Contact Person, and a resident grievance officer. All of them should be a resident in India.

While Twitter has named its Resident Grievance Officer for India, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has challenged the new IT rules for social media intermediaries requiring the messaging app to trace chats and make provisions to identify the first originator of the information, saying they violate the right to privacy and are unconstitutional.

WhatsApp further alleged the requirement of intermediaries enabling the identification of the first originator of information in India upon government or court order puts end-to-end encryption and its benefits “at-risk”.

Some of the media houses have also challenged the new IT rules and the matter is sub-judice.

How To Build An Email List Of Your First 100 Potential Customers?

Ask any professional marketer with years of experience, “which is one of the best tactics for promoting services and products online?” You will undoubtedly get one answer- Email Marketing. But there is one crucial aspect of this marketing strategy, without which it cannot taste success, and that is- Email list of potential customers.

Creating a list of email ids of potential customers makes sense because it allows you to send emails and communicate directly with people who are looking for your services or products. These have requested information from you which increases the chances of conversion rate too.

According to a survey, people who buy products marketed through email spend 138% more than people who do not receive promotional emails. So whether you are trying to sell services, information, or any product, email sign-ups can bring amazing results.

We are sure that by now, you must have understood that building an email subscriber list is worth the time and effort. But, from where you should begin?

If you are a fresher in the world of online marketing, the entire process of getting email subscribers might appear daunting. However, fear not! With constant learning, you can become a master of email marketing.

And our article is going to help make email marketing services all seem simple and less daunting. Here are 5 brilliant ways to get email subscribers of your potential customers.

So, let`s begin!

  1. Find your potential customers

Not everyone could be your customer unless you are selling ice cream. Hence, before you begin to make a strategy, you must first pay attention to your potential customers.

Having anyone and everyone on your list is not going to give you any favorable results.

Email marketing is an absolute lead magnet of a marketing tool. In fact, according to stats, your email subscribers can provide considerable high conversion rates of 4.16%.

The best way to find out about your target customers is to research well on demographic factors. The demography of a customer involves their age, gender, their place of living, education, interests, influences, and burning problems.

You too can achieve high conversion rates, if your list-building efforts involve gathering email sign-ups from your target customers.

  1. Present a Pop-up at the end of your content

This is the most successful way of getting leads from your visitors. If you are not getting enough leads, it could be because you are not asking for emails at the end of your content.

Most website visitors subscribe only after they read your content. By triggering a pop-up as soon as they reach the last line of your content, you will be asking them to make the decision right away. Also, since this pop-up appears only after the user has finished reading content, it works like a CTA. Thus, it does not look like a barrier.

  1. Retain Users by triggering a pop-up

When a user signals an intention to exit, triggering a pop-up can increase your subscribers in five minutes or less.  Exit-intent is a new technology that is used to determine when a user is about to leave the website. Many list-building services have integrated this into their businesses because it works like a charm when it comes to email marketing.

So whenever someone is about to leave or close the browser tab, the action triggers a pop-up. This makes the user stop to see what just happened.

  1. Display a Sticky Top Bar

Display a simple and noticeable bar that stays at the top of the screen. So when a user scrolls the page down, the bar remains at the top within a user`s sight all the time. This will get more attention and you will get more conversion. It is a high converting place for your subscriber form and can be used to increase your email conversion rate faster.

  1. Offer Upgraded Content

This is one of the best email marketing tips. Suppose you write a post “Top 3 Ways to Get Organic Traffic”. Also, you have an informative PDF “20 different Sources of Getting More Traffic”. Offer your readers a chance to download the PDF by opting in to give you their email addresses.

Try providing upgrades to your content as subscribing rewards and see your conversion rate improving.

How To Craft Perfect Emails For Brilliant Email Marketing Campaigns!

Email Marketing is dead! Well, yes, that is what you will hear many online marketers say. But, nothing could be further from the truth. Find out why this age-old marketing technique is still your best bet when it comes to creating brand awareness and increase customer engagement?

Email writing is both a science and an art. It is a potential medium to generate unbelievable levels of engagement and interaction within a customer base. Every time you hit the ‘send’ button, you send precious capital- time.

Time is a valuable resource, and you can waste people`s time if your communication is personal, professional, or promotional at not worthwhile. Send a few unhelpful and dull emails, and you could lose the person forever. If you are a marketer, who is struggling to establish the brand in the market, you must have to experience that.

So what does it take to write an impactful email that will attract more customers and boost your sales? How do popular brands still leveraging traditional email marketing? How do successful brands craft better emails to improve their customer engagement?

Here are five simple yet effective ways that will help you to craft killer email copy to boost customer engagement and take digital marketing to a whole new level:

  1. Avoid Overselling

Direct, on-point, and respectful- these three ingredients can guarantee the recipe for a successful email marketing campaign. Emails today from various companies and businesses promoting services and products are overloaded with unnecessary details. They have a strong sales pitch and even stronger call-to-action. This could be a putt-off factor for many consumers who are already bombarded with sales offers.

Keep your emails direct, on-point with a hint of professional as well as a personal touch, and your goals will be closer than you could anticipate.

  1. Build Connection with Personal Touch

When we reach out to contacts for business purposes, introductory pleasantries come across as insincere. This is why try to stay in touch with your clients by messaging them occasionally. For instance, if you are looking to collaborate with somebody, send a note two to three weeks before your pitch, complimenting that particular client on his recent accomplishment on LinkedIn. It will send out a personal message with a professional note, and things might turn out in your favor.

  1. Be Concise, Crisp & Short

This might sound simple, but keeping your emails short, crisp and to the point can do you and your audience a huge favor. To make your email most effective and impactful, limit them to three to five sentences. You can also format them in bullet points for more information.

People`s time is valuable and everyone is following a hectic schedule. This will give a clear idea to the recipients of your email. And you are more likely to get a response if you respect everyone`s time. Email marketing is all about making your emails easy and fast to read. Do not forget to add a friendly salutation too!

  1. Focus on the Email Preview Text

The subject line and content are imperative! However, there is one more factor that can make your email from good to great Email Preview Text.

Email preview list is a 40-100 characters string of text that appears in nearly every email client. Utilize this text as it can support your subject line and can increase email open rates.

  1. Make your First Sentence the most Powerful

Readers decide within the first ten seconds if they are going to open your email or not. So make your first sentence your best sentence. Be specific, stay considerate, and offer something that your readers truly care about. Make full use of emoticons to make your emails fun and effective.

Email Marketing is still a wonderful strategy to increase customer engagement. If implemented perfectly, it can yield unexpected results. However, one has to implement all the points that are mentioned above in our article.

Not only the above-mentioned points, but there are also plenty of other effective ways to empower your email marketing strategies. How To Create A YouTube Channel In Just 5 Steps!

If you are looking to create a passage through which you can earn online, then there is no better time than now!

If you are a content marketer and interested in video marketing then creating a YouTube channel is the place to start with. Why? YouTube is the second most popular social network, after Facebook on the entire internet.

Not just that, as a Google product, it is also the second-largest search engine after it. It has more than 2.3 billion users across the world.

You can find a diverse audience on YouTube. From wanna-be-chefs to tech geeks, fashionistas to travelers, every type of audience is present on YouTube. Like literally!

And these billions of users log in every month to watch videos on the platform. Especially, in 2021 when the world is still reeling under the aftermath of the pandemic, these fresh statistics hold great value for marketers. You can also watch Case Study on Youtube by Dr. Vivek Bindra here:

With such a massive and active market of users, YouTube has virtually no competitors. This is one of the reasons why more and more people are creating YouTube channels to make money. It certainly proves to be a great platform for anyone who wants to tap into this endless world of creative and entertaining opportunities.

No wonder, companies are putting more of their monies into digital video advertising. However, that does not mean that you too need to shed a large amount of money to create a YouTube channel.

The process of starting a YouTube channel is rather easy. And, most importantly, if you constantly put out quality content that would pull people towards it, you will get the attention and eyeballs that will help you to drive customer acquisition through YouTube.

But first, let`s start with how to create a great YouTube channel.

  1. Select a Channel Layout & Organize your Content

The first step towards your YouTube marketing begins with creating a great channel layout. It involves a crisp name for your channel and clear description and the types of videos you are going to post. When users come to your channel, they should be completely aware of what you are offering to them, and what they can expect.

Keep your color scheme simple, and ensure that they complement the theme of your channel. Write a powerful and clear call-to-action (CTA). Do not forget to mention how often you publish new videos.

Create videos that are informative, engaging, and bring value to the users who are taking out time from their busy schedules and investing it in you.

  1. Create content for your channel, regularly!

To keep your channel`s feed active, you should consistently update your channel with fresh and new content. It also helps to increase your presence on the platform, and help you build an audience.

Though there is no ideal amount to post, you should aim for a minimum of one video every week. If you find it too time-consuming, there is one more way to keep your feed alive- shorter versions of long videos.

There are diverse YouTube channel ideas for beginners. Select a topic and build a theme around it. Post-bite-size versions of that video every week. This will keep your audience engaged and they will come for more.

  1. Write a great YouTube Title

Titles are very important when it comes to creating videos on YouTube. This is certainly something that you cannot ignore. No matter how engaging and informative your content is. If you can`t get anyone to click on your video, you will not gain any viewers for your channel.

How to do it? Well, here is the recipe to create an appealing and attractive title for your videos. It is pretty simple and you can also take inspiration from other YouTube channels that are from your genre and are earning well.

YouTube`s title character limit is 100. But right around 50 to 55 characters, they begin to cut off the text on the desktop. This where you write a smart title that forces a user to click on it to know more.

E.g. Business Insider writes half a sentence and leaves it as a “…..”. This makes the user click on the video to watch it completely.

Also, use the right keywords, as it is another important aspect of YouTube SEO. Always use keywords in your title to attract the right audience.

Now, as we finally know how to make a great-looking title, let`s move on to the visual title- the Thumbnail.

  1. Create the Right YouTube Thumbnails

Do not skip this part. Choosing the right thumbnail for your video is as crucial as selecting a title. There are multiple ways that marketing experts are using to attract more users. Some of them include using arrows and circles and including a logo for brand awareness.

  1. Cross-promote with other Channels

One of the best ways to increase reach on your YouTube channel is cross-promotion. Identify and reach out to other YouTube channels that are similar to yours to collaborate or cross-promote in a manually beneficial manner.

You can use your email list, followers on social media platforms, or even embed videos on your website to drive traffic.

If you have wanted to start a YouTube channel of your own, do not delay it any further! Start now! This is the perfect time to start making engaging videos and monetize them too.

Xiaomi Leads India’s Smartphone Market With 26% Share for January-March Quarter in 2021: Report

Xiaomi managed to lead the Indian smartphone market with a 26 percent market share in Quarter one 2021, as total shipments increased 23 percent (on-year) to reach over 38 million units in Q1 2021, according to data released by Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service. However, the second quarter is likely to be affected due to the lethal second coronavirus wave.

Xiaomi was followed by Samsung with 20 percent in the second position, while Vivo was third with a 16 percent share, the report said. The fourth position was held by realme with 11 percent share.

“Continuing with its stellar run, India’s smartphone market registered a third consecutive quarter of record shipments in Q1 2021, riding on pent-up demand. Consumer confidence also increased due to the beginning of a vaccination drive in the country,” said Senior Research Analyst Prachir Singh.

“But these numbers should be taken with caution as a second and more virulent wave of COVID-19 is currently on in the country and is likely to impact the coming quarters,” he cautioned.

Meanwhile, India’s mobile market grew 19 percent year-on-year in the January-March period due to the sturdy performance of both smartphone and feature phone segments.

Tech Startups To Get Major Boost As India and Singapore Ink Pact To Usher an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

New Delhi, April 24: India and Singapore have inked a pact to boost the startup ecosystem and encourage start-ups to take advantage of the Singapore-India trade and technology corridor. Under the pact, the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) of IIT-Kanpur have come together to provide a gateway of opportunities to tech-based start-ups. This would help these startups to usher a circular economy and an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

India is today the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world, with over 45,000 start-ups in various stages. In 2014, only four start-ups in India were in the Unicorn club. According to a report by PTI, the SICCI-SIIC conducted the first in a series of cross-border collaborations on Friday under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on March 10, 2021.

Here’s how the pact between India and Singapore would help tech start-ups:

  1. The two institutions are collaborating to identify young, indigenous talent to provide them with an array of incubation services.
  2. A joint statement said that this one-of-its-kind association will provide start-ups in Singapore and India a competitive edge in the global market.
  3. With an array of services, both SICCI and SIIC will promote homegrown and international initiatives operating in the technology domain with mentorship and access to capital.
  4. To galvanise their efforts towards promoting indigenous innovation, SICCI-SIIC Launchpad Competition – SICCI-SIIC INNOVATION LAUNCHPAD – held a start-up pitch competition on a virtual platform.
  5. Nine pre-selected contestants – five from Singapore and four from India – pitched their ideas to the judges.

Prof Amitabha Bandyopadhyay, in-charge of Innovation and Incubation at IIT Kanpur, said that LaunchPad 2021 is the first of many upcoming endeavours that marks the beginning of an unseen era in the incubation ecosystem. “SIIC and SICCI have come together to develop a symbiotic relationship to benefit indigenous innovations in our respective countries,” he said.

“As we open our doors for their startups to explore the Indian market, and vice versa, we bring in a plethora of opportunities for all stakeholders. We are delighted to support tech-based businesses that are sustainable, ensure value-addition, and provide local employment opportunities,” he added.

Meanwhile, SICCI Chairman Dr T Chandroo said with SIIC, we plan to provide a well-deserved launchpad to our start-ups and those in India to create well-established global brands that thrive on excellence, innovation, and ingenuity. It was with this expectation that the Prime Minister of India launched the ‘Startup India’ initiative in January 2016.
